About Me
Ruth Waddy is an artist and designer whose business is up cycling bicycle inner tubes.  She graduated from Trinity university with a degree in costume design.  For many years, she worked as a freelance sewer and costume designer ; making wedding dresses, and custom pieces for performance artists.
She has always been drawn to unusual fabrications.   While living in Portland, Oregon; she made garments for 5 of the annual "Junk to Funk "recycled fashion shows.  She costumed plays for Milagro Theater, Portland Playhouse , and Coho Theaters.  Her costumes for artist MK Guth were used in the 2010 Whitney Bienneil.
Ruth returned to Texas and settled in Austin; where she's been developing her line of clothing and accessories.  She's been vending her wares on South Congress since November 2012 and has participated in a mash- up team and had a trunk show at Austin Rocks during Austin Fashion week.  In January 2013 she showed her bicycle inner tube gowns and a hanging tube installation at Square 459 gallery in New Orleans, LA.
Some of her accessories are currently offered for sale in Austin Rocks and Square 459.
